Green Lemur were formerly a freelance project management and editorial support company, but our focus has changed. Nigel has decided to re-enter the world of full-time work - as Digital Publishing Director at Galore Park Publishers down in Tenterden - an exciting and challenging new role for a dynamic little publishing house.
I'd like to take this chance to thank all the fabulous people I have worked with over the last 6 or so years, and hope that some of you will remain with me on the next stage of the journey.
Most of the great work that we've done at Green Lemur has been to find new ways to use technology to create and manage educational content. While full-time work means I don't have a huge amount of time to concentrate on other things, I will be putting out some software applications through Green Lemur over the coming months and years, building on the knowledge I've developed over my time as a freelance. While mainly a hobby at this stage, I hope that other people will find what I create useful, and I will be looking to release the software to a wider audience as time goes on.
In the short term, that means I am looking for people to help me test my first application - an online task management application. It's been built to do one thing: manage your tasks and projects to let you concentrate on getting the work done. It doesn't do fancy-schmancy multiple synchronisation across your PC, laptop, phone, TV , fridge and microwave; it doesn't try and work out fancy patterns of how you should tackle your work; it doesn't try and pack in gantt charts, document writing and advanced CRM tools; what it does do is capture your tasks reliably, let you see which are the most important, and tick them off when they are done. I think it's a new approach in a tired field and I'd love for you to help me test it. Email me if you fancy having a look.
Bye for now
